I know, that when someone logs in, a bell goes off to let us know, but can that sound be made for when someone logs out too? i know you would have to refresh your page every so often, but it'd be so much easier, then we'd know who had gone, and therefor wouldn't quick note them or anything any more.
Well, this could be done but there is a lmited benefit to it.
The only time your browser knows who is logged in is when you refresh and information is exchanged between the server that hosts the site and your computer, at that point your page is updated and only those you can send messages to appear in your private message box on your page. Until you do something to refresh that page again your browser will think all those people are logged in and the server cannot communicate to your browser that x and y have loggedout. This could be created by having events sent I believe server side and have your browser notified but it would be very inconvenient, it would refresh the page randomly beyond your control and disrupt you from reading whatever you're reading. It's a good idea but I don't think it'd be that beneficial really.

well i sometimes get insane with the log in bell, so I don't consider like having a log out sound as well, well it would be too much of a notification quicknoting, eheh. But well, whenever I am about to log out I usually anounce it. Otherwise i just silently leave. Its better for you to use the log out option by typping /logout, because if you just hit alt f4 you will still be in and people will contact you, instead, /logout logs you out immediatedly. So yah.

Couldn't we have a log-out sound for selected users only? or would that be even more complicated than having a log-out sounld for everyone?
you mean like a buddy sound or something? ive hearda those. yeah that would be hard though, usually why i have publicas off other than drama and traffic is the sounds!...
